Beginning with Al Darb Al Ahmar, which is south of Cairo's city walls and lies between Bab Zuweila and the Citadel, you will begin your exploration of Cairo, the city of a thousand minarets. This area was once home to Fatimid and Ayyubid-era cemeteries. The city's population peaked during Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad's affluent reign (1293–1341), and the region started to undergo serious development. Next, you will witness the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque and Salah El Din Citadel, followed by the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa, considered the most cohesive and condensed of all Cairo structures in terms of style. After that, you'll go to the Ahmed Ibn Tulun Mosque, Egypt's third-largest mosque. Its enormous decoration collection, distinctive spiral minaret, and spacious hall are its defining features.
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 4: Travel to Fayoum and El Minya
Your journey from Cairo to Fayoum, which is 60 miles away, will begin bright and early. After visiting Lake Qaroun, you'll go to the Wadi Rayan National Park, where you'll see the Wales Cemetery, Gabal Al Modawara, and the Water Falls. Have a picnic for lunch. Later, you will travel to El Minya, where you will check in at the Grand Aton El Minya Hotel.

These include the baboon and ibis crypts, which depict the god Thoth; Isadora's tomb; the priest Pet-Osiers' tomb; an ancient water wheel; and the boundary stelae of the city of Aton. Travel to Al Ashmunien, the old Hermopolis city, and see the open museum with the two enormous baboon statues, and the basilica church remains featuring rose granite columns. Next, continue to the Beni Hasan location on the eastern side of the Nile. There, you will see the distinctive rock-cut tombs, which illustrate local and regional life throughout the Middle Kingdom. Many of these include scenes of military training and wrestling.

Your journey to Tell Al Amarna, Akhnaton's capital, will begin after breakfast. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to visit the city, its many tombs (both northern and southern), the remains of its palace and temples, and, of course, the royal tomb. You will next go 48 km north of Assiut to see the Al Muharraq Monastery. The Holy Family stayed there for 6 months and 10 days, the longest time spent at any single site. Then you will travel to Meir Village, Egypt, which was the operating cemetery for Cusae and is located about 30 to 40 kilometres north of Assuit. For the nomarchs of the fourteenth Nome of Upper Egypt, Meir served as a cemetery during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods (6th–12th Dynasties). A cemetery for simple people lies beneath the hillside of the rock-cut graves. Only the nomarchs of Cusae, a centre of worship for the Egyptian goddess Hathor, were able to use the rock-cut tombs. Finally, a vehicle will take you to Abydos.

Seti I established the temple, which was completed by his son, Ramesses II, following his father's death. It has the most colourful high reliefs in Egypt, as well as the Abydos King List. Many Egyptian pharaohs, from the first one, Narmer or Menes, to Ramses himself, have their cartouche names displayed. Following a delightful lunch, you will be taken to the Dandara temple complex, where you will visit Hatour Temple, dedicated to the goddess of love, music, and dance.
