This is a less expensive substitute for our well-known Pyramids & Nile by Air. You will take a sleeper train to go to Aswan. You will first see the Great Pyramids of Giza in Cairo. This location allows you to experience the magnificence of the final surviving monument among the world's seven ancient wonders. After that, take the sleeper train to Aswan, where you'll board a magnificent cruise liner and spend three days sailing the Nile. Prepare yourself to explore and take in the sights while traveling from Aswan to Luxor.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Greetings from the Land of the Pharaohs upon Arrival in Cairo
After helping you with the arrival procedures at Cairo International Airport, your tour manager will drive you in a luxurious, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. When you arrive at the hotel, your tour manager will help you check in easily and go over your itinerary with you to confirm the time of pick-up for each tour.

Day 2: Take a train to Aswan after touring the pyramids and Cairo
Before you check out of your hotel in Cairo, enjoy breakfast there. Next, you will go with your tour guide to the Giza Plateau, where you will see one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinus, as well as the well-known Sphinx and Valley Temple. Proceed to the Egyptian Museum after that. If there is time, you will be driven to Khan El Khalili, Cairo's oldest bazaar, after you have had time to see the beautiful ancient Egyptian antiques and treasures. You will subsequently be taken to the Giza train station to board the sleeper train that travels from Cairo to Aswan. Breakfast and dinner will be provided on board.

Day 3: Cruise Tours of the Aswan Nile
Our representative will greet and help you when you arrive at the Aswan train station. After that, he will take you to your Nile cruise ship. After lunch on board, you will start a guided tour of the magnificent Philae temple dedicated to the goddesses Hathor and Isis, as well as the enormous Unfinished Obelisk that is still lying on its side in the ancient Egyptian stone quarries. After that, return to the cruise ship and enjoy dinner there.

Day 4: Kom Ombo visit
Following breakfast on board, you will set sail for Kom Ombo, where you will see the twin temples and discover the myths surrounding the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek, whose statues grace each half of the structure. You will eat lunch back on board before continuing your journey to Edfu and having dinner there as well.

Visits: Kom Ombo, the Kom Ombo Temple.
Day 5: Cruise Tours on the Nile Luxor
You will see the Horus Temple in Edfu after breakfast on your Nile cruise ship, and then you will travel to Luxor and have lunch on board. After that, you'll be taken back to the Nile cruise ship for dinner and belly-dancing entertainment.

Visits: Horus Temple, Edfu.
Day 6: Luxor Nile Cruise - Train to Cairo
Taste an enjoyable breakfast on board in the early hours of the day. After breakfast, depart and take pleasure in an amazing tour that includes stops at the Karnak and Luxor temples on the East Bank of the Nile in Luxor, as well as the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank of the River Nile in Luxor. The sleeper train back to Cairo will depart from the Luxor train station, where you will later be heading. There will be dinner served on the train.

Day 7: Optional Excursions to Cairo
After breakfast on the sleeper train, you will arrive at the Giza train station where our representative will greet and help you to your hotel so you can spend some free time (you will be able to check into your room as soon as possible). There are optional excursions that you can take while in Cairo. For example, you could go to Memphis and the Step Pyramid of King Zoser in Sakkara.

Day 8: Cairo - Return Home by Air
Before your journey, take advantage of some free time and enjoy breakfast at your Cairo hotel. You will be transported to Cairo International Airport for your last departure after check-out.

The Egyptian Railway Authority establishes the quality standards that are followed in the design and upkeep of Egyptian trains. Traveling by sleeper train from Luxor to Cairo takes approximately 11 hours, and the trip from Cairo to Aswan takes about 14 hours. You can upgrade your trip package to include a domestic flight (about 1.5 hours) for about $295 per person, which will cut down on the amount of time you spend traveling.
